Mr. Michael Tarallo (USA) joined UNTSO as Chief Mission Support after having served as Deputy Director of UNAMID Liquidation Team (2021-22) and the United Nations for the last 33 years.

Expert in administrative and operational support services, Mr. Tarallo served at headquarters, offices away from headquarters, and peacekeeping operations during all organizational life-cycles (planning, start-up, maintenance, drawdown, and liquidation). He managed all UN funding mechanisms.

During 2011-21, Mr. Tarallo served in UNAMID as Chief Operations and Resource Management, Chairperson of the Administrative Task Force, and Chief Budget and Finance. He served as budget officer in DESA (2006-11), UNTSO (2002-06), UNMIK (2000-02), UNOV (1998-2000). Special assignments include support to UNMEER (first UN health mission), Planning Team for UNAMID (first UN hybrid mission), and UNAMI (formulating first UN security budgets).

Mr. Tarallo published three books on public administration and budgeting.

Mr. Tarallo holds a Master of Science in Public Administration and Development, a Master of Arts in Political Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Administration.
